Witches' Night
On the night of May 1, it's not just traditional May customs that come to life, such as lighting May fires to drive away evil spirits, May dancing, or May jumping.
Here at Satzvey Castle, Patricia Gräfin Beissel GmbH offers a spectacular evening program, including a medieval witch market, in a state-of-the-art setting. Under the open sky, in the shadow of the castle courtyards and in the mystical lighting of the medieval moated castle, they stage a unique open-air program that is sure to delight not only lovers of the medieval genre. At midnight sharp, the largest May bonfire in the Rhineland is lit in the castle park.
The Witches' Night at Satzvey Castle on April 30 is the annual event for fans of old May customs, mysticism, and music. Dressed as witches and wizards, they flock from all over Germany to experience a spectacular evening program with a variety of bands and to dance around the huge May bonfire. Throughout the evening, imaginative witch creatures wreak havoc in the nooks and crannies of the castle grounds, providing many a surprise.
