Kinderritter
Wearing chain mail, feasting at the knight's table, fighting with crossbows or swords – what child doesn't dream of experiencing the life of a knight up close?
At the medieval castle of Satzvey, children become damsels or knights – knightly disciplines and historical customs can be experienced in a playful way in an authentic setting!
This year, Satzvey Castle will once again host a knight festival just for children. Under the motto “Children's knights with passion,” the little ones can immerse themselves in the exciting era of the Middle Ages. With love and imagination, Patricia Gräfin Beissel GmbH transforms the historic castle grounds into a wonderful world of times long past.
Medieval scavenger hunt – experience knighthood up close
In heavy knight's armor or noble robes, the young knights can practice various medieval disciplines at Satzvey Castle on this special weekend: archery in authentic knight's armor, Viking boat pulling or stick bread baking, herb quizzes or axe throwing.
Children can experience medieval life up close during this “scavenger hunt” – not only in the large knight's camp, but throughout the entire castle grounds. Those who successfully complete ten stations and have their card stamped will receive an award.
Minstrels and medieval market
At the large medieval and crafts market, numerous traders from a wide variety of medieval guilds offer their wares: incense, jewelry, furs, and garments for young and old are available, as well as homemade food and refreshing drinks. Numerous minstrels also gather on the extensive castle grounds. With lyres, bagpipes, and all kinds of other instruments, they sing, play, and entertain their audience.
If you want to experience even more knights, don't miss the Knight Festival on the following Pentecost weekend!
